Kyle Moore

Born in Quincy, Illinois, Kyle Moore was raised into a family where hard work and community service was the measure of a good citizen. Kyle’s family provided him a unique look into American life. His grandfathers and father were all business owners, teaching him the value of a dollar, how hard you have to work for success, and what it takes to keep customers happy. His mother worked for the Illinois Department of Human Services and taught him about caring for the less fortunate and how government can interact with its citizens on a day to day basis.

Kyle graduated from Quincy University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. During his years at Quincy University, Kyle worked full time for Abbey Carpet and was active in the community. After college, Kyle was looking for a place where he could make a difference, he chose Quincy.

Community service is a central theme in Kyle’s life. He has been a “Big Brother” for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program since 1999. He was a board member of the West Central Illinois Big Brothers/Big Sisters from 2005-2011, serving serving as their Board President from 2008-2010. Kyle is active with the Adams County United Way, serving on the Resource Allocation Committee  from 2005-2010. He is a member of the Quincy Exchange Club, Young Professionals of Quincy and served as the Political Director for the Adams County Right to Life from 2005-2009. In 2010 Kyle joined the Board of Directors for the Redmond and Lee Youth Community Center in Quincy.

Kyle currently works as the Vice President of Moore’s Floors Inc. His duties include project management, estimating and outside sales. His projects take him all around the tri-state area, servicing Illinois, Iowa and Missouri.

Kyle attends St. James Lutheran Church where he went to school and has been a member throughout his life. He enjoys traveling, having visited 8 countries since 2002 and is an avid Dodger fan.

On April 7th, 2009, Kyle was elected to serve as Alderman for Quincy’s 3rd Ward, defeating a 16 year incumbent with 58% of the vote. Kyle was sworn in on May 4, 2009. He currently serves as Chairman of the Fire Committee and serves on the Homeland Security, Adams County 9-1-1, Human Rights and Safety Committees.
